In 1996, Trung Nguyen was one of the small coffee companies in Ban Me Thuot province. At that time, Vietnam was once again becoming one of the largest coffee producers in the world, but almost exclusively exporting “green” coffee (unroasted beans) that was sold on the commodity market. As a result, Vietnamese exporters had no control over the resulting quality of the coffee or its price.
Roughly in the middle of Vietnam, near the border with lower Laos and the northeastern border of Cambodia, is the “Central Highlands” region. This area is one of the “TOP 10” best areas for growing the highest quality coffee in the world, thanks to the ideal combination of the right altitude, soil composition, natural conditions and temperature. Yet the region had no control over its destiny – to produce this once sought-after and sought-after coffee.
The owners of Trung Nguyen recognized that in order to produce truly “gourmet” coffee while remaining as independent as possible from the global commodity market, it was necessary to return to the best practices in coffee growing and processing and to have control over the entire process, right up to the final, packaged product.
After successfully reviving the production of this exotic coffee, Trung Nguyen built the first Vietnamese coffee franchise and expanded it first throughout Vietnam and then to many other countries around the world.
Trung Nguyen has been honored with numerous awards and titles for its business achievements, enlightened production practices and excellent products. It is currently the largest producer, processor and exporter of coffee in Vietnam.
Trung Nguyen coffee farmers are EUREPGAP and Utz Kapeh certified for “safe and sustainable” coffee growing practices. Trung Nguyen coffee is grown on smaller farms, where traditional processing methods are used, such as natural sun-drying of coffee. Farm cultivation supports the prosperity of villages, where farmers work on the basis of contracts that guarantee them purchase prices for their products.
The varieties Arabica, Robusta, Chari (Excelsa), Catimor and Liberica are used to produce Trung Nguyen coffee. Thanks to this diversity of species, unique and interesting coffee flavors can be created that are not found in single-species coffee.
Today, this most recognized, respected and successful producer of Vietnamese branded coffee has decided to enter Czech households. Until recently, you could find Trung Nguyen coffee in the Czech Republic more by chance and it came to us through unofficial channels. We are proud to have become the first and only authorized importer of Trung Nguyen coffee in the Czech Republic.
